Hand Woven Netted Belt

It sits a bit lower than I wanted (the fringe part is over my belly  button) it to but for my first try I think it's pretty good. I'd love to know what you think about it. :)

Pearl Netting

I think this is turning into the beaded flower fiasco all over again. Once I start making something I like I wind up making like fifty of them. (you should see how many of those flower necklaces I actually made it's ridiculous lol)

Netting with fringe tutorial

I've put together a picture tutorial on how to do netting with a fringe. I tried to do a video version but I failed about three times so I gave up, and decided to do pictures instead. If you try it let me know, and if you have any questions feel free to ask.

For a Video Version Click Here

First you start out with your needle and thread, two different colors of size eleven tohos, and size 4mm Czech glass beads (or whatever bead you choose for your drop)

You start off by adding your beads on your needle in the order above. Then move all your beads down your thread leaving an eight inch tail. (1 accent 2 main color 1 accent 2 main color 1 accent 2 main color 1 accent 2 main color 1 4mm round and 1 accent color)

Now run your needle back up your 4mm and pull tight.

Now string on more beads in the sequence show above. ( 2 main color 1 accent 2 main color)

Then run your needle up through your second blue (or whatever your color is) bead from the bottom of your work.

It should look like this.

Now string on these beads again

Then run your needle through your top bead.

And it should look like this.

Then string your beads on again like this.

And go down through your accent color bead in the group you just added.

And it should look like this.

Add your group of beads on again.

Go through your second accent bead in the first group you had added.

It should now look like this

Now add two main color beads a 4mm and one accent color bead and, move it down to your work.

Now run your needle back up through that 4mm bead and pull tight.

Now add this sequence again

And go through your accent bead in the group you added right before you added your 4mm.

It should look like this

Add the group again

Go through your accent bead at the very top group.

Then you should have this. Just keep repeating these steps and you'll get something like this.....

You can make it as long or as short as you want it. You can make a bracelet or a necklace. Leave it plain or add embellishment is up to you. I hope the pictures weren't to dark for you to be able to tell what I was doing. If you would like for me to do more tutorials let me know, and I'll try some more.

The Necklace That Took Three Days

I have been working on this necklace for the last three days and it's finally complete and ready to share. I just finished it and it's a little after 10 pm., but I couldn't wait until morning to take pictures I'm to excited to share it with you so please excuse the poorly lit photos. I really like this necklace a lot. :) It would seem I'm a little addicted to including flowers in my necklaces though I just think there so fun and girly. I hope you like it as much as I do!

How gorgeous is that 27mm Swarovski crystal!? It sparkles like nobodies business. I have them in four other colors too. I had six but two of them have been put to work already :) I really hope to get the time (and money) to start beading again I've been making a necklace here and there for awhile, but I haven't been beading as much as I use to. I think part of that is that the pieces I have been making are way more time consuming than my older ones were. I really want to make a big (maybe a bit overdone) necklace like the ones people make as show piece that they enter into contest like at bead and button and things like that. I'm not sure why I have the urge to do that because those kinds of pieces take a LOT of time a LOT of beads and a LOT of work for a necklace that probably won't get to be worn very often. I really have no attention span either which is probably why the above necklace took me three days to finish I kept picking it up and sitting it back down after doing one or two pieces of it. Although for my benefit it does take me four to six hours to do just a plain netted necklace and that's going nonstop until I finish it. I don't know it's just an idea first I have to figure out what it is I want to make :)
