The Necklace That Took Three Days

I have been working on this necklace for the last three days and it's finally complete and ready to share. I just finished it and it's a little after 10 pm., but I couldn't wait until morning to take pictures I'm to excited to share it with you so please excuse the poorly lit photos. I really like this necklace a lot. :) It would seem I'm a little addicted to including flowers in my necklaces though I just think there so fun and girly. I hope you like it as much as I do!

How gorgeous is that 27mm Swarovski crystal!? It sparkles like nobodies business. I have them in four other colors too. I had six but two of them have been put to work already :) I really hope to get the time (and money) to start beading again I've been making a necklace here and there for awhile, but I haven't been beading as much as I use to. I think part of that is that the pieces I have been making are way more time consuming than my older ones were. I really want to make a big (maybe a bit overdone) necklace like the ones people make as show piece that they enter into contest like at bead and button and things like that. I'm not sure why I have the urge to do that because those kinds of pieces take a LOT of time a LOT of beads and a LOT of work for a necklace that probably won't get to be worn very often. I really have no attention span either which is probably why the above necklace took me three days to finish I kept picking it up and sitting it back down after doing one or two pieces of it. Although for my benefit it does take me four to six hours to do just a plain netted necklace and that's going nonstop until I finish it. I don't know it's just an idea first I have to figure out what it is I want to make :)

I'm Sorry the quality of these pictures aren't the best. I took them inside so the colors are a bit off. The first picture shows the colors the best. I hope you like it :)

Resin

I've been playing around with cabochons lately, and so I decided to try and make some out of resin. it's really a simple process i actually learned how to make them from this YouTube video below.
The video is from tsummerlee

Take a look at some of the things i've made :)

Sorry for the reflection of the umbrella in the last pic. I use an umbrella when taking my pictures because if i don't the pictures come out way to bright.

Ciao, tutti

Learning a new language is not so easy haha. I'm "trying" to learn Italian but it's like taking a leap forward only to stumble a few feet back. In the process I have come across some Italian beaders on YouTube though, and let me tell you they know what they are doing, that's for sure. I may only be able to understand every third or forth word of what their saying, but that's ok since I don't have to know what their saying to appreciate their creations (or creazioni as they would say :). I'll put a list of their links below so you can go watch their videos too even if you can't understand a word their saying it's still worth going to see their creazioni :)

Cleaning

My room was really starting to look like a hurricane had went through it so I decided it was about time I do something about it. So sorry for the lack of posts these past couple of days I've been cleaning like crazy. It's really a load off my shoulders to see the progress I've made though. I still have a bit more to do but hopefully I'll finish up tomorrow. I'm also working on a new beading project so hopefully I'll have some pictures of that to show you soon. It's not a piece of jewelry though it's a piece of framed art. I'm thinking of doing a few pieces like this although they do take a while to finish. Soon as I've made some noteable progress I'll take some pictures to show you all. :)

Vitrail Medium

I'm in love with Vitrail Medium. It's color is like no other. Depending on the angle you look at it, it could be deep red, bright green, dark green, or teal. I LOVE IT! It's a pain to photograph though.

Hope you like it :)

Little beaded flowers :)

Recently I was looking through one of my old beading magazines and found a tutorial for lilies of the valley. I'm quite new in the seed bead world, but it looked easy enough so I gave it a go. I really like how they turned out I hope you do to :)

Sorry I only have one picture I took pictures of the necklace on the go and this is the only one that turned out decent :) The tutorial is in Bead and Button, June 2011 if your interested i don't know if you can still find it or not but hopefully you can.

Exciting News

I'm so excited to tell you I ordered my kiln! yay it will be here tomorrow :-)! I'm so excited that my beads will no longer need to be batch annealed. That mean I'll be able to use them the day after I make them! If your wondering which kiln I got I ordered the chili pepper kiln. Nell (my lampwork teacher) has that kiln, and told me it was the one I should get :).
